Caroline Smith

Caroline Smith is currently a graduate candidate for New York University’s Center of Global Affairs with a concentration in International Futures. Originally from North Carolina, she received her BA in political science from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. 

Among other things, Caroline’s greatest focus is on regular reform within the maritime industry, criticizing previous cases that resulted in preventable fatalities at sea. Through a post-modernist lens, she analyzes time frames for regulations of admiralty law in parallel with theorists’ ideologies such as Fredric Jameson and Eviatar Zerubavel to advance the literature. Due to the lack of focus on this particular area, Caroline’s specific expertise brings forward interesting perspectives meant to strike a nerve in the maritime industry. 

In the coming year, Caroline is expected to develop this research as a chapter to include in the upcoming volume of the Anthem Press Series, “Anthem Ethics of Personal Data Collection”.
