Levino Johnson

Dr. Levino Johnson Jr. is a public policy expert specializing in national security analysis, global affairs research, and border security policy. With extensive experience working with federal stakeholders, he has played a critical role in shaping policies related to transnational threats, immigration enforcement, and fentanyl risk mitigation. His expertise spans both federal and private sectors, where he has provided strategic insights on complex security and policy challenges. 

Dr. Johnson’s contributions have been recognized at the highest levels of government. He was awarded the Inspector General Honor Award for Team Excellence in 2019 for his work on the Fentanyl Exposure Alert Team and received the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) Award for Team Excellence in 2020 for his role in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Criminal Alien Program Faces Challenges report. His leadership in policy development and oversight has directly influenced homeland security operations and public safety initiatives. Dr. Johnson has also co-authored multiple federal publications that have informed national security policies, including “TSA Has Not Implemented All Requirements of the 9/11 Act and the TSA Modernization Act.”

Beyond his policy work, Dr. Johnson is dedicated to public service and advocacy. He serves as a policy advisor on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Advisory Committee in Fort Lee, New Jersey, where he collaborates with the Mayor and City Council to improve accessibility and community engagement initiatives. Additionally, he is a board member of the Bergen County Veterans Advisory Council, advocating for veteran resources and policy initiative’s.

As a NYU Global Affairs alumni and decorated U.S. Army veteran, Dr. Johnson’s career has been defined by his ability to analyze complex policy landscapes, provide strategic national security insights, and implement impactful solutions at the intersection of public safety, immigration, and federal governance. His work continues to shape regulatory decisions, global security strategies, and institutional reforms aimed at safeguarding communities and frontline personnel worldwide.
