Yu Nong
Yu Nong is a recent graduate from New York University, where he completed his Master of Science in Global Affairs with concentrations in international development, international relations and peacebuilding.
Prior to that, Yu was studying Journalism and Communication in Guangxi University, China and Melbourne University, Australia.
He interned with the United Nations Human Settlement Programmes (UN-Habitat) in Nairobi, Kenya, and its liaison office in New York City, responsible for partner relations, social media management, and other research and communication tasks.
He produced a documentary about the role of youth empowerment in slum upgrading agenda, advocating for a youth-led solid waste management project at the largest slum in Kenya.
He also assisted World Vision, an NGO specializing in Child Protection, in revising its peacebuilding and conflict prevention model as a volunteer. Yu is endeavouring to support the fulfillment of the 2030 SDGs with his multimedia skills applied to awareness-raising and information sharing actions.
Recently, Yu has joined a joint PhD/MS program in Public Affairs at Rutgers University-Camden, where he will pursue the PhD degree.
