Difei Hu

Vivian has an extensive academic and professional background in international development, specialising in gender and programme evaluation, in the contexts of sustainability with a focus on China. She co-wrote a China country brief ‘On gender equality and women’s economic empowerment’ for UK Aid and Work and Opportunities for Women (WOW). She has over ten years’ experience in providing technical assistance to bilateral and multilateral organisations, including CCICED, DFID, GIZ, UN Women, USAID and UNDP, in the capacity of gender adviser/trainer and Monitoring and Evaluation adviser for large-scale programmes and with multi-level stakeholders in China. She has previously worked for Global College at Long Island University, the Institute for Sustainable Communities and the Human Development Report Office of UNDP, as well as the Zhejiang Academy of Social Sciences. She has field experience in South Asia and Africa, working with different UNDP country/regional offices. Vivian received her BA and MA from Zhejiang University and has an MPA from Columbia University, specialising in Economic and Political Development.
