Parker Jackson
Parker Jackson is an incoming Electrical Engineering PhD student at Penn State’s Computational Electromagnetics and Antennas Research Lab (CEARL), where his research will sit at the intersection of applied physics and intelligent systems. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from Bucknell University, with minors in Physics and Mathematics, a combination that reflects his commitment to interdisciplinary thinking, bridging physical theory, mathematical rigor, and applied software engineering to tackle problems that don’t fit neatly into one field. Prior to Penn State, Parker built practical engineering experience as an Analytics Intern at Moog Space and Defense Group, where he developed Power BI tooling for cost estimation and proposal tracking, and used large internal data warehouses to surface insights.
His independent and academic project work spans machine learning, retrieval-augmented generation, and PyTorch-based modeling, reflecting a consistent interest in building systems that make complex, high-volume information usable for real decisions. At LEAD Impact, Parker contributes to the backend engineering behind LIMSS, working on the data pipelines and processing infrastructure that ingest open-source signals, including news, humanitarian reports, weather, and economic indicators, and turn them into the scored, traceable risk picture that analysts and decision-makers rely on. It’s work that maps directly to what drew him to engineering in the first place: systems that operate quietly in the background but determine the quality of everything built on top of them.
